Rachel Lee Zheng (b. 1993; Claremont, California) lives and works at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont, and is a recipient of the 2018 Emerging Artist Award, sponsored by the St. Botolph Club Foundation, Boston, Massachusetts. Zheng is a graduate of Bowdoin College, with a BA in Visual Arts and Earth & Oceanographic Science, where she received the 2016 Senior Thesis Faculty Award, 2016 Richard P. Martel Jr. Memorial Prize, 2015 Grua/O’Connell Research Award, and 2015 Kaempfer Summer Art Grant. Most recently, Zheng exhibited solo exhibitions at FiveMyles, Brooklyn, New York; Steel House Projects, Rockland, Maine; and as part of the Camden International Film Festival this year. Her work is published in the summer 2018 issue of Studio Visit magazine.
